A Super Bowl Watch Party goes like this:
Get a bunch of people together Watch a football game Eat a lot of food Scream and holler, laugh and giggle and have a great time Tell people about Jesus
Everyday we are surrounded by opportunities to reveal are faith, but we often are not focused enough to share. A Super Bowl Watch Party is just the occasion you need to tell people about Jesus. Everyone is having great time, the atmosphere is exciting and the next thing you know someone is sharing how great it is to be a believer. You are going to be amazed at how simple it is to take a three hour football game and turn it into something with eternal impact.
Whether you are hosting a watch party at your home with a dozen guests or a community wide event in the fellowship hall with hundreds of people, this workbook can be used to assist you in your preparation. I have found that most people can pull off a great party, they just need the reason to do it, and what better reason than to see someone come to Christ. So dust off the TV, break out that buffet table and let's have a party!
The ABC's of Evangelistic Events
Attract Attention: Before you can tell anybody anything, you must have their attention. A watch party is a great way to do that. I like to use a form of sensory overload. Remember the five senses?
Sight: Use lots of visuals at your party. Things like Balloons and streamers, Fancy paper plates and colorful punch bowls. Go overboard and get confetti the same color as the teams playing the game. Your local party store like Party City or Paper Warehouse has a whole section on football stuff. Make your home or Fellowship hall festive! Also, make sure you have plenty of witnessing materials to give each of your guests. During the pre-game, or during break times, they can read the material at their leisure. That way, when you have time to share your testimony or use one of the video testimonials we have available, guests will already have their mind open for the Gospel.
